So today was Kyrin's first day of daycare. I cried in the car as I drove away. I totally love this place, but she's never been with 'strangers' longer than a few hours. She was there from 7:30 until 5. The ladies said she did fine. What are they going to say? "You're child is the spawn of the devil. You need to find new placement." Yeah right.
My students come back to school next Monday. This week is full of meetings, working in my classroom and MORE meetings. Our open house is Wednesday and Thursday. Two days to accommodate all the people. Great. Open houses, conference nights and report card days give me panic attacks. I don't sleep well, I don't eat well, all sorts of fun.
Oh, and I'm sick. What a terrific way to start back to work!

So how's work going, Cousin Pi? I'm sure Kyrin will be fine. My brother and I were daycare babies. I think we turned out pretty OK. Kyrin will have friends to play with all day and the teachers to dote on her - naturally she'll be everyone's favorite (being the cutest baby in the world and all).
Oh I have to agree with Kitty's comment--the one about being the cutest baby, of course. But I, always your biggest fan (not counting Pedro), KNOW you'll do really well. Parents have ALWAYS loved you, and so will your students because they always do too. While the replacement teacher sounded like a hound of hell she at least gave you an easy step into the "great teacher" spot you fit into naturally!
To follow your example, love and tissues!
